"The Tunes"

Running a close second to the disc jockey and the equipment used, is of course the music we bring to your event; more specifically the right music to motivate your guests. The last thing you want is your disc jockey to be playing some profanity-laced song, or something so loud and obnoxious that it drives most of your guests out the door.

This is where our thirty years of experience, in all sorts of venues; from night club to radio stations to anniversaries, weddings and the like, serves us best. We know what music to play; when and how much to play and when it is time for a change.

The key to the overall success of your event is to find the right balance of musical genres; using the right combination of songs (slow and fast)...songs that appeal to all ages and all tastes. The exception to the rule, of course, is if the event was.... say...an all country music event, or an all Top 40/Hip Hop event. Our music programming would reflect that as well.

In the case of a Wedding Receptions, the music selection is especially key and one of the major factors in the success or failure of same. Typically at a reception there is a wide demographic of ages; from very young children to aunts, uncles and grandparents. While musically you want to cater to the majority, there are ways to satisfy everyone, just by the playing of a special song or two.

In booking your wedding reception we will want to meet both the Bride and Groom several weeks prior to the event where we will discuss your musical needs. You will undoubtedly have special songs that you want for the Bride/Groom dance, the Father/Bride and Mother/Groom dance, etc. There may be special dedications throughout the night.

If you have no idea as to choices, click on the links below for ideas. You can also "Google" wedding songs; you will be presented with a myriad of web sites offering ideas. The Wedding Zone at www.weddingzone.net/index.htm is an excellent resource. For wedding related music choices/options click on this link: www.weddingzone.net/p-top50.htm .

We also highly recommend T Carter Music (click this link: www.tcartermusic.com). Tony is a songwriter offering new and original ceremony and wedding dance music, as well as new renditions of classical ceremony music.

When we meet we want to be aware your special, or favourite songs, as well what genre(s) of music you want to hear and more specifically what you don't want to hear. Bear in mind though; what you might not like, ninety percent of your guests might and vice-versa. It's best to keep an open mind. Trust the professional disc jockey you've hired. His experience should, or in our case...will guide us as to what is appropriate to play, no matter what the event.

"That Music Guy" has well over seven thousand songs available in our music library. Let's be realistic though; in an average four or five hour event you might expect to hear anywhere from sixty to eighty songs...so seight thousand, or more songs in a library sounds good, but realistically, of that number, ten or fifteen percent of those songs are ones that you might typically play at any given event.

We have music spanning eight decades; from the 1930's to today's hottest hits...Big Band, Jazz, Easy Listening, Ballroom, Country, Classic Country, 70's Rock, Pop and Disco, 80's, 90's and Todays' Hottest Hits.

Our music is sourced from purchased cd's and on occasion, through legal online digital music vendors. For current music, we subscribe to "Promo Only Canada"; they provide us with the latest mainstream pop, a/c, urban and country hits; all edited for content (profanity free).

The skills to program a successful night of music comes from one thing....experience. With our thirty years of experience, entertaining at all sorts of venues and events, "That Music Guy" has the skill set necessary to satisfy the musical needs and wants of everybody at your event.
